They come to see the beautiful rolling hills covered in white, but there\u2019s not a flake of snow in sight \u2013 the countryside is covered in cherry blossoms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The great bloom<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It only lasts for about ten days, usually at the end of March or beginning of April, which makes this experience even more special: the natural wonder of two million cherry trees blossoming at once. It seems like a dream\u2026the fragrant blossoms just go on and on, and the villages dotting this spectacular landscape are just as charming.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can spend the day (or several) strolling from village to village, taking in the magic of <em>cerezo en flor<\/em> (the cherry bloom) while discovering one of Spain\u2019s lesser-known regions. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, picturesque with a rich history still visible in the architecture. And the truth is, the Cherry Blossom Festival is every bit as sweet as it sounds.<\/p>\n<p>All throughout the villages of the Jerte Valley there are exhibitions, medieval markets, open-air celebrations, tasting routes and sessions, musical performances, guided tours of the Los Infiernos Nature Reserve and the Cherry Museum, and many other activities taking place.<\/p>\n<p>The festival begins on March 19<sup>th<\/sup> and lasts until May 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.
