Dort, im kleinen Dorf Alcoy, ist das Fest der Mauren und Christen ein Ereignis welches sich im internationalen Tourismus einen Namen gemacht hat und Besucher aus der ganzen Welt anzieht \u2013 und jedes Jahr werden es mehr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eine jahrhunderte alte Tradition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Diese wunderbare historische Nachstellung zu erleben, bedeutet f\u00fcr die Besucher einen wichtigen Teil der spanischen Geschichte zu entdecken, w\u00e4hrend sie das immer gr\u00f6sser werdende Festival genie\u03b2en. Es ist wirklich beeindruckend, wenn man bedenkt da\u03b2 das Fest seit \u00fcber zweieinhalb Jahrhunderten in Alcoy stattfindet!<\/p>\n<p>Die Mauren und Christen sind ein sehr wichtiger Teil des Erbes der Region und deren kultureller Identit\u00e4t. Das Fest selbst stellt Figuren nach, die eine Rolle in den Muslimischen Aufst\u00e4nden die in der Region im Jahr 1276 stattfanden, spielten. Die wichtigste Charakterfigur ist San Jorge (der Heilige Georg), der als der grossartige Verteidiger gegen die Angriffe der Muslime gefeiert wird und auch der Schutzpatron des Festes ist.<\/p>\n<p>Die wichtigste Schlacht fand am 23. April 1276 statt, als die arabischen Truppen von Al-Azraq einen Sturm auf das Dorf Alcoy versuchten. Die Legende besagt, da\u03b2 der Heilige Georg w\u00e4hrend der Schlacht erschien und die Araber f\u00fcr immer aus dem Land vertrieb. Demnach findet das <em>Fest der Mauren und Christen<\/em> j\u00e4hrlich um dieses Datum herum statt, vom 22.-24. Die Festlichkeiten sind \u00fcber drei Tage verteilt, jeder Tag ist randvoll mit aufregenden Aktivit\u00e4ten gef\u00fcllt.<\/p>\n<p>Zuerst steht der Paraden-Tag auf dem Programm, welcher an der <em>Pla\u00e7a d\u2019Espanya <\/em>in der Morgend\u00e4mmerung beginnt. Sogar zu dieser fr\u00fchen Stunde ist der Platz zum Bersten mit Leuten gef\u00fcllt, die in herrlichen Kost\u00fcmen auf den Auftakt der Feierlichkeiten warten. Im Laufe des Tages werden Besucher den Streitwagen der Christen sehen, welcher von Rittern, afrikanischen Kriegern, unter Konfettiregen, exotischen T\u00e4nzen und unendlichen Musik- und Farbkonvois umgeben wird.<\/p>\n<p>Der 24. April ist der Tag, der dem Heiligen San Jorge, dem unbestrittenen Hauptdarsteller des ganzen Festes gewidmet ist. Dargestellt durch ein Kind, k\u00f6nnen die Besucher morgens und abends von neuem Prozessionen mit unglaublich aufwendigen Kost\u00fcmen, Musik und Tanz genie\u03b2en.<\/p>\n<p>Der dritte und letzte Tag kennzeichnet den H\u00f6hepunkt des Festivals, mit einer Nachstellung der ber\u00fchmten Schlacht die in der Niederlage der Araber endet. Sie beginnt mit einem verbalen Wortgefecht zwischen den Botschaftern beiderseits, gefolgt von einer feurig simulierten Schlacht auch bekannt als <em>Alardo<\/em>.
