Doch El Rocio ist keine Geisterstadt \u2013 jedes Jahr f\u00fcllen \u00fcber eine Million Menschen die Stadt zu einem von Spaniens gr\u00f6sstem und unbekanntestem Fest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ein Viertel Religion, drei Viertel Feierlichkeiten<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>La Romer\u00eda del Roc\u00edo<\/em> findet f\u00fcnfzig Tage nach Ostersonntag statt, meist Ende Mai oder Anfang Juni. Das Roc\u00edo \u2013 Fest ist eine religi\u00f6se Wallfahrt stammend aus dem 15. Jahrhundert als, gem\u00e4ss der Legende, ein J\u00e4ger eine Statue der Jungfrau Maria in einem Baumstamm nahe des Dorfes fand. Die Pilger, auch unter dem Namen <em>Rocieros<\/em> bekannt, kommen auf Pferden und Kutschen an. Die Frauen tragen farbenfrohe Flamenco-Gew\u00e4nder w\u00e4hrend die M\u00e4nner Reiterkleidung mit breitkrempigen <em>boleros<\/em> anhaben. W\u00e4hrend mehr und mehr Pilger eintreffen, f\u00fcllt sich die Luft mit Flamenco-Musik und dem Geruch von frisch gekochtem Essen auf offenen Feuern. Und wenn die Nacht anbricht begeben sich die Pilger in Zelte mit Lagerfeuern, die bis zum Sonnenaufgang brennen. Die Besucher k\u00f6nnen von Zelt zu Zelt schlendern und die festliche Atmosph\u00e4re und die traditionellen Kl\u00e4nge und die T\u00e4nze in sich aufnehmen.<\/p>\n<p>Der H\u00f6hepunkt des Festes ist am n\u00e4chste Tag, wenn die Jungfrauenstatue aus der Kirche gebracht und durch die Stadt paradiert wird, w\u00e4hrend die Menschenmengen \u00a0\u00a0<em>\u2018Viva la Reina de la Marisima\u2019<\/em> (\u2018Lang lebe die K\u00f6nigen des Marschlands\u2019) schreit. Es mag sich eher wie eine grosse Party als ein religi\u00f6ses Fest anh\u00f6ren, doch die Pilger sind dennoch aufrichtig and leidenschaftlich gl\u00e4ubig.
