Die Feierlichkeiten zu San Juan, welche ihren H\u00f6hepunkt in der Nacht des 23. Juni erreichen, sind eine spektakul\u00e4re Zurschaustellung von Musik, Farben und Feuerwerken, wenn tausende von Menschen \u2013 besonders in Alicante- die Stra\u03b2en und Str\u00e4nde einnehmen, um sich abzuk\u00fchlen und dieses aufgeheizte Fest zu feiern.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feierlichkeiten zur Sonnenwende<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Das Fest von San Juan geht auf die vorchristliche Zeit zur\u00fcck und markiert den Beginn der Sommersonnenwende, den l\u00e4ngsten Tag des Jahres. Es wird in ganz Spanien gefeiert, doch die Region um Alicante herum ist f\u00fcr ihre gr\u00f6\u03b2ten Feierlichkeiten von San Juan bekannt, wo Menschenmassen zum Strand str\u00f6men, Lagerfeuer anz\u00fcnden und bis zum Sonnenaufgang feiern.<\/p>\n<p>In Alicante werden sie <em>\u201cLas Hogueras de San Juan\u201d<\/em> (Lagerfeuer des heiligen Johannes) genannt. Traditionell gingen die Menschen am 23. Juni zu einem festlichen Abendessen aufs Land und entfachten um Mitternacht Lagerfeuer, um welche sie herum tanzten; machten Feuerwerke und schwammen im Meer. Dieser Brauch hat sich \u00fcber die Jahre hinweg erhalten und im Jahr 1928 wurde das Fest der Lagerfeuer von San Juan offiziell gegr\u00fcndet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>San Juan in Alicante heute<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heutzutage genie\u03b2t \u00a0Alicante mehrere Festtage, in der Stadt selbst werden Zelte, die \u201ebarracas\u201c genannt werden aufgestellt, welche als Drehscheiben f\u00fcr das leibliche Wohl sorgen und als Tanzfl\u00e4chen dienen sollen.\u00a0 Vom 20. bis 24. Juni finden ohrenbet\u00e4ubende Feuerwerke auf der Plaza Luceros statt. Seien Sie gewarnt: die Feuerwerke halten den ganzen Tag an (und die ganze Nacht) \u00fcber an! Im historischen Zentrum finden neun Tage lang Musik-und Tanzveranstaltungen, sowie Paraden statt, auf denen die K\u00f6nigin der Fiesta, bekannt unter dem Namen &#8222;<em>Bellea del Foc<\/em>&#8220; (&#8222;Feuersch\u00f6nheit&#8220;), gew\u00e4hlt wird.<\/p>\n<p>In Alicante werden die Lagerfeuer begleitet von gro\u03b2en Figuren aus Holz und Pappmach\u00e9 welche auf dem Hauptplatz der Stadt ausgestellt werden und um Mitternacht des Abendes des Heiligen Johannes (23. Juni) in einer Zeremonie, der \u201ecrem\u00e0\u201c (das Verbrennen), abgebrannt werden. Die Figuren werden nach einem spektakul\u00e4ren Feuerwerk in Flammen gesetzt, und \u00fcberall in der Stadt werden Lagerfeuer entfacht, es wird getanzt und gesungen. Gem\u00e4\u03b2 der Tradition,steuerten alle Nachbarn ihre alten M\u00f6belst\u00fccke und andere entflammbare Dinge die sie nicht mehr brauchten bei, um den Scheiterhaufen zu bauen, welcher die Ausma\u03b2e eines kleinen Hauses hatte.
