Sowohl mit ihren Moscheen, Synagogen und Kathedralen, als auch mit den alten westgotischen r\u00f6mischen Ruinen, \u00a0trumpft Toledo vor allem mit viel Kultur auf!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stadt der Drei Kulturen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Toledo gibt ein malerisches Bild ab, hoch oben auf dem Berg, den Tajo-Fluss in der Region Castilla-La Mancha \u00fcberschauend. Die Stadt von weitem zu betrachten l\u00e4sst die Besucher erahnen was sie ist \u2013 die Burgspitzen dominieren die Skyline \u2013 doch der kulturelle Reichtum der Stadt geht weit hinter jede Vorstellung hinaus.<\/p>\n<p>Von den R\u00f6mern gegr\u00fcndet, wurde Toledo sp\u00e4ter zu einer wichtigen Stadt der Muslime, die sie im Jahr 711 eroberten.\u00a0 Bis ins 11. Jahrhundert machten sie Toledo zu einer konkurrenzlosen spanischen Hauptstadt der K\u00fcnste und der Gelehrten. Obwohl die Stadt w\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit unter arabischer Herrschaft war, lebten Muslime, Christen und Juden jahrhundertelang friedlich nebeneinander, bis Toledo im Jahr 1085 von den Christen zur\u00fcckerobert wurde.<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend die Muslime und Juden dazu gezwungen wurden zum Christentum zu konvertieren oder die Stadt zu verlassen, ist ihre einzigartige Gemeinschaft noch heute in Toledos Architektur, Monumenten, Moscheen, Kathedralen und Synagogen sichtbar. Visuell gesehen hat jedes Geb\u00e4ude einen historischen Hintergrund, einige Bauten d\u00fcrfen auf keinen Fall verpasst werden. Eine der herausragensten Geb\u00e4ude ist die Kathedrale, welche als Meisterst\u00fcck der Gotik betrachtet wird. Das Bisagra-Tor, welches der Hauptzugang durch die ummauerte Stadt ist, stellt eine wundersch\u00f6ne Reflektion der arabischen Geschichte Toledos dar. \u00dcberbleibsel der j\u00fcdischen Gemeinschaft wurden ebenso in der ganzen Altstadt erhalten, zum Beispiel die Synagoge Santa Maria la Blanca oder El Tr\u00e1nsito.<\/p>\n<p>Neben ihrer Archtiktur ist Toledo auch bekannt f\u00fcr seine Kunst; vor allem f\u00fcr den ber\u00fchmten Maler El Greco. Sein ehemaliges Zuhause, ein Palast aus dem 16.
