Es gibt diejenigen die sagen, dass sie von der Mythologie und der Bestrafung welche Herculas Cacus gab, herr\u00fchrt , w\u00e4hrend andere sagen, dass die Tradition von den Ureinwohnern Nordamerikas importiert wurde. Es gibt auch den Glauben dass Jarramplas den Heiligen Sebastian repr\u00e4sentiert, einen christlichen Krieger, der von seinen eigenen Kameraden verachtet wurde weil er ein Spion war \u2013 die Geschichte endet mit dem Tod des Heiligen.<\/p>\n<p>Doch die meisten Leute in Piornal erz\u00e4hlen die Geschichte dass der Jarramplas ein Viehdieb war, den die Dorfbewohner vertrieben, indem sie viele Gem\u00fcsesorten auf ihn warfen. Januar, als Teil vom Heiligen Sebastian Tag, statt. Der Jarramplas wird von einem mutigen als Teufel verkleideten Einwohner gespielt, welcher in farbigen Streifen und einer kegelf\u00f6rmigen Maske mit riesiger Nase, H\u00f6rnern und einer Pferdem\u00e4hne gekleidet ist. Er rennt auf einer kleinen Trommel spielend durch die Stra\u00dfen w\u00e4hrend die Einwohner von Piornal ihn mit R\u00fcben bombardieren.
